WHAT HAPPENED?
Barcelona have tried and failed to register Olmo and team-mate Victor for the second half of the season due to their ongoing financial problems. Now, captain Raphinha has admitted if he was a prospective Barca signing, he would "wonder if it's the best option" to head to the Catalan giants.

WHAT RAPHINHA SAID
Asked if this registration debacle would affect potential future transfers, he said: "Yes, it can have an impact, I can’t say the opposite. If I was in another club seeing the situation they are going through, I would probably wonder if coming here is the best option. When I signed for Barca I knew the situation the club was going through. I saw a chance to play for this shirt and I waited until the very last moment. I don’t regret at all my decision."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
This has been an embarrassing turn of events for Barcelona, particularly as they signed Olmo from RB Leipzig less than six months ago for around £50 million ($62m). And if skipper Raphinha is saying statements such as these, it shows the club are in a real mess.
